Right Image: Close up showing Lunar Mountains sillouetted.
The 1999 Eclipse remains the best for providing numerous image variations.  These images are the most requested for publication.   With the Sun at Solar Maximum, the images of the PromInences were unforgetable.

Equipment used
The Telescope used was a 94mm f/6.8.Brandon Refractor on a Losmandy G-11 Equatorial Head, supported by a custom made low profille Mahogany Tripod.   Great lengths were taken to place the equipment into to 2 “carry on" size cases.  Cameras and a Battery acted as Counterweights.

A TeleVue “2x Big Barlow Lens” inserted into the focuser, followed by followed by Extension Tubes provided an effective focal length of 2820mm (f/30).  This yielded a Solar disk image of 26mm in diameter, too large for the 35mm Camera Frame.   The Full Solar Disk images were made by splicing  images together.

A Pentax ZX-M camera body was used for photography.  This is a clever auto wind Camera can shoot up to 2 frames per second if needed.  The film used was 100VS Ektachrome, pushed to 200 ISO.
