Click Image for larger Image Though not part of the actual Transit, this was my favorite image. This Prominence was imaged just prior to the beginning of the Transit. It disappeared soon after this image was recorded. There was little Prominence and Sunspot activity during the Transit. |
This Image was made approximately midway through the Transit. Image shows subtle Solar surface detail. |

Second Contact & Transit Path |
|
Above left Image: shows the "Back Light" as Venus passes over the surface just prior to "Second Contact." Above right Image: Is the "Second Contact". This image shows the path of the Transit. Venus is shown in 40 minute intervals. Low computer battery and clouds prevented additional imaging until near the end of the Transit. |

Third Contact |

|
|
Above Image:
Computer Battery is recharged and there is
the promise of cloud breaks. This series of Images was made between
cloud breaks. Deteriorating sky conditions made for an interesting
effect on the shape of Venus including the "tear drop" effect. |
